Description:
Demonstrations and hands-on work in several intaglio techniques, including etching on zinc and copper plates. Various methods of putting the image on the plate (hard ground, soft ground, aquatint, drypoint, engraving, life ground, etc.) will be covered, as well as the exacting procedures for proofing, correcting, and printing editions. The student should expect to participate regularly in class and to devote about an equal amount of time outside class to achieve adequate results. May be repeated for additional credit.
