Description:
What is creativity? Why is it important? Where does creativity flourish, and who benefits from it? These are the questions that will fuel most discussions and writing in this section of Writing 1. We will read about creative people, the science of creativity, and the effects the emergence of the so-called "creative class" is having on Oakland. Students will expand their language and writing skills, using writing to respond, communicate, think, and ultimately present engaging, well-supported ideas.
