Upcoming Workshops for Faculty & Staff

To Register Click Here.

For the last several months, CCA has been seeking opportunities to address the growing need to provide educational and training opportunities for staff and faculty around sociocultural and socioreligious identities in a time of deep conflict and increasing anxiety about social disenfranchisement and targeted violence. In partnership with EquipInclusive, we are providing two virtual trainings–with a blended approach of both individualized learning and group engagement. We are entitling the series, “Showing Up Together”.

All faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the following workshops:

Addressing Campus and Community Islamophobia

Tuesday, March 5th, 3:00-4:00pm (via Zoom)

Dr. Amer Ahmed

Dr. Ahmed is a keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, consultant, and intercultural leader on various current topics. He currently serves as the vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion at the University of Vermont, and is co-founder of EquipInclusive. This workshop will benefit participants interested in learning more about Islam, the significance of bigotry toward Muslims in the US frame, and the American Islamic experience–with needed context to bridge divides.

Addressing Campus and Community Antisemitism

Wednesday, March 6th, 3:00-4:00pm (via Zoom)

Dr. Imani Chapman

Dr. Imani Romney-Rosa Chapman, the founder and director of imani strategies, is a compassionate change leader for equity, and a Jewish and interfaith community voice. She has more than 30 years of experience in curriculum design, organizing, and educating for social justice. Imani currently serves on the Board for the Roger L. Wallace Excellence in Teaching Award and Jewish Studio Project. This workshop will place what we are observing and experiencing today in the US into a larger historical and political context that helps us continue to contextualize generational trauma and reach for greater understanding.

Important Note: Both workshops are accompanied by 10-12 minutes of online pre-learning modules about religious diversity on campus.

Register Today: Please confirm your interest in participating in this opportunity by completing this registration form. Space is limited and will be filled in the order that we receive responses. Participation in both events is encouraged, but not required.

For those who register but cannot attend, workshops will be recorded and available for 30 days post-session.
