The Temporary Alumni Audit Policy is currently in effect until Fall 2026.
Courses Eligible for Auditing
Alumni who have completed Undergraduate degrees can request to audit Undergraduate courses and alumni who have completed Graduate degrees can request to audit either Graduate or Undergraduate courses.
The Alumni Audit Policy excludes Mentorship, Internship, Independent Study, Study Abroad, AICAD Exchange, Continuing Education, Extension or Pre-College courses.
Auditing Expectations
Alumni auditing under this policy are not required to participate in class discussions, groups, homework, examinations, projects or any class activity other than regular attendance either in person and/or online.
Regular attendance, as defined in the course syllabus and student handbook, is required. Arriving on time and remaining for the entire period scheduled is expected. Alumni with unexcused absences from 20% or more class sessions will be subject to an Administrative Withdrawal from the class, which will count as one of the two courses alumni are allowed to audit per the policy. Withdrawn students will receive a grade of "W" and no longer have access to course-related facilities. 20% of a fifteen-week semester is about three consecutive or non-consecutive weeks. Multiple late arrivals (usually three) may be considered equivalent to one unexcused absence. Any exceptions are up to the discretion of the instructor. Instructors should include their absence policies in the course syllabus and alumni should discuss any potential absences with their instructors as early as possible
Alumni auditing courses under this policy are required to adhere to all college policies.
Alumni will also need to adhere to CCA's vaccination requirement and update their vaccination status in Workday prior to being registered in a course.
Grading Policy
Audited courses will not be for credit or graded. Alumni will receive an "AU" grade on their transcript at the end of the term, but this will have no affect on the GPA.
Registration
A course may be audited only if there is space in the class/studio during the Add/Drop period for the semester being requested and with additional Program approval if necessary. Exceptions will not be made for over-enrollment in a closed course.
Spring 2025 Alumni Auditing Request Process
Alumni interested in auditing a course must submit the Spring 2025 Alumni Audit Request Form by Monday, December 9th, 2024. Your form responses will be reviewed by the Student Records Office one week before classes begin. If you are requesting to audit two (2) courses in one semester, please fill out separate forms for each request.
Please review the available courses here.
Late submissions will need additional review by the Registrar by contacting the Student Records Office via email at studentrecords@cca.edu.
Alumni are strongly recommended to adhere to CCA's vaccination requirement and update their vaccination status in Workday when submitting this form.
A course may only be audited if there is space one week before Spring 2025 session begins which is Tuesday, January 21st, 2025 and there will not be any exception for over-enrollment. Alumni will be notified via email on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025 if their requests are approved and they are registered.
Drop and Withdraw Policy
Alumni can drop a course that they are auditing within the Add/Drop or withdraw after this period has ended by contacting the Student Records Office. The Add/Drop dates can be found on the Academic Calendar. Alumni will receive a "W" grade for the course and this will be counted as one of the two free courses allowed to audit per the policy.
