2019 Comics in the City
In celebration CCA’s MFA in Comics graduate students making their return to San Francisco, California College of the Arts will host its seventh annual guest speaker series featuring three of comics' most vibrant creators and a special reading by our graduating students. Each Friday in July, the Comics in the City speaker series will highlight various aspects of the comics medium from independent publishing to the craft of writing and the future of digital comics.
Featuring: satirical cartoonist Joey Alison Sayers (The Nib, Mad Magazine), critically-acclaimed writer Gabby Rivera (America, Juliet Takes a Breath), Inkpot Award-winning artist and writer Phil Jimenez (Wonder Woman, Infinite Crisis), and our very own graduate cartoonists!
