Event description

This show is about my exploration into various folklores, mythologies, and spiritual practices in an effort to work with, and create new, iconography of strong females–a theme I find sorely lacking in our current society which is obsessed with vapid female stereotypes, and the Princess-ifying of all girls and women. The psychoanalyst Carl Jung, created the idea of 7 archetypes of the female; The Mother, The Maiden, The Lover, The Wise Woman, The Huntress, The Mystic, and The Queen.  The pieces made for this show will include each one of those, along with my ‘Glaze-test Torsos’ (a series of bodies based on my personal struggles and breakthroughs), amid scrolls of my to-do lists for the last two months of my education.
