There is a delicate balance of care and harm, a taking and a giving that happens both within and without our homes. Even in our most cherished memories and in spaces that should be most welcoming, we often find ourselves out of place and at odds with those closest to us. Drawing tension between hard and soft, comfort and uncertainty, I use sculptural installations of ceramics and textiles to mimic and shift domestic settings as a way to navigate issues that we all face in our personal relationships. Loss, rejection, acceptance, warmth and fear intermingle in an altered reality filled with oversized toads and an abundance of pillows.
