Description:
How do colonial, postcolonial, and decolonial projects transform and produce gender and sexual dynamics in Muslim communities? How do these communities respond to neo/colonialism and its backlash? What roles do the arts and media play? In this seminar, we will interrogate binaries including East/West, tradition/modernity, religious/secular, veiled/unveiled, and private/public to explore some crucial questions facing our world.
