CCA is pleased to continue its partnership with Intersection for the Arts for CCA Sparks:

Participants will be trained by non-profit organization Intersection for the Arts, Bay Area leaders, who are teaching artists and designers how to navigate the landscape of innovation and entrepreneurship by providing training seminars for art and design students, and the CCA community. Students will not only have a co-curricular experience, but also collaborate with current CCA undergraduate and graduate students during the experience to provide them with a new platform for collaboration and peer connections. CCA Sparks signifies the institution’s commitment to preparing students for successful careers as artists and entrepreneurs.

Intersection for the Arts is a Bay Area arts nonprofit dedicated to helping artists grow and providing people in arts and culture with resources to grow. Through vital resources, including fiscal sponsorship, low-cost co-working and event space, and professional development, Intersection for the Arts empowers people to continue creating, thinking big, and taking weird and wonderful risks in today’s rapidly evolving world.

Partnering with Intersection for the Arts provides CCA students with thorough hands-on classes, group counseling, and individual coaching sessions. Participants learn various aspects of making a business plan for an arts venture. Specifically, the Arts Accelerator program, launched in 2015, provides insights into the business side of creative work. The Arts Accelerator culminates with an event in which participants pitch projects for future potential funding.
