Oakland Campus Legacy Committee (OCLC)

Event description

Professors across the college have assigned projects focusing on research related to the histories of the Oakland campus—its architecture, flora, and artistic legacies. Projects have been informed by archival research in the CCA/C Archives and gathering oral histories, and range from making handmade papers from plant materials gathered in the gardens to printing textiles from botanical renderings drawn from source material on campus.

Students located on both the Oakland and San Francisco campuses have responded with enthusiasm and have produced stellar work in the Animation, Architecture, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Jewelry Metal Arts, Printmedia, Textiles, and UDIST Programs.

Curated by OCLC co-chair Deborah Valoma, the exhibition of student work—Student Legacy Work—will be sprinkled throughout the Oakland Campus. The work will be viewable during The Last Wednesday Night opening and a map will be available so that guests can walk from location to location. Some works will be on display longer (see details below).
