2026 Program Logistics

At-A-Glance Schedule

July 6-July 31, 2026

Move-In (for those who are staying on campus)

July 5 9am-12pm (students will be assigned a move-in time)

Week One:

July 6-10

On the first day of program, commuter students will check-in starting at 9am with everyone gathering at 9:30am for orientation.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday students meet in person, on campus, 9:30 am-12:30 pm & 1:30-4:30 pm.

Weeks Two, Three:

July 13-17 / July 20-24

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday students meet in person, on campus, 9:30 am-12:30 pm & 1:30-4:30 pm.

Friday afternoons will feature different art and design workshops and opportunities for students to work across programs on interdisciplinary projects.

Week Four:

July 27-July 31 (Mon.,Tues., Wed., Thurs., Fri,)

Final week of program on campus.

Focus on final work, class critiques, and public open studios exhibition and celebration.

July 31

Open Studio Exhibition Celebration- will be held in late afternoon/early evening time TBD. Parents/guardians/family and friends are invited to attend.

Move-Out

August 1 8am-12pm (students will be assigned a move-out time)

Program Schedule

First Day of Class

  • The first day of classes will be Monday July 6th. Students will enter the Main campus building using the 145 Hooper Street entrance (145 Hooper St San Francisco, 94107)
  • Commuter Students - please arrive at 9:00 am for check-in.
  • Residential Students - You do not need to check-in the first day of program and can head to the 145 Hooper Street entrance after breakfast
  • International Students- Pre-College F1 Student Check-In and Orientation, Monday 6 July 2026 @ 8:30 am, 3rd Floor Lounge, Founders Hall
  • Check-in will include:
    • Receiving your CCA photo ID- this will be used as identification and for your commuter meal plan
    • The first day will include an orientation, tour of campus, introduction to faculty/staff and meeting with your studio cohort. Orientation will begin promptly at 9:30 am.

Class Schedule

  • Classes are held daily Monday - Friday from 9:30am-4:30pm (lunch break from 12:30-1:30)
  • Evening studio time is from 4:30-8pm are offered twice weekly starting the second week of the program. This time is for students to complete homework and are optional in week 2 and required in weeks 3 and 4. Weeks 2 and 3 are held Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Week 4 studio hours are held Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Additional notes on class schedule
    • After First Day of Class, ALL students will head to class via 145 Hooper Street entrance, class begins at 9:30am.
    • Students are required to bring their CCA IDs daily.
    • Students will be with the same students and instructor working on their program focus for the program.
    • There will be two interdisciplinary workshop opportunities on Friday July 17 & Friday July 24 where students can sign up to explore a different program focus for the afternoon.

Open Studio Celebration on July 31

Open Studio Celebration on July 31

Family and friends will be invited to join their students on the last day of the program, July 31 for an Open Studio Celebration from 3:45-5:30pm. There will be a brief presentation followed by the opportunity for students to show their parents/guardians & friends their work. Please note for students who are living in the residential halls, move-out is on August 1.

Residential Students

Housing, Meal Plan & Move-In/Out days

On campus residential students attending the Pre-College programs will live at CCA’s Founders Hall on the San Francisco campus. A housing application is required for all residential students and includes a housing agreement, and signing the student code of conduct policy. All Pre-College students will live on the third floor in a double studio with a shared bathroom.

Students main point of contact in the residential hall will be the Pre-College Residential Education Coordinator who will live with them in Founders Hall. There will also be four Residential Assistants (RA’s) here to support as well. The Pre-College Residential Education Coordinator & the RA’s will be planning weekly activities for students to participate in including activities at night & optional outings on Saturday.

Meal plans are required for our residential students living in Founders Hall and are packaged with your housing payment.

Move-in day is Sunday, July 5, 9:00 am-12 pm. Move-out day is Saturday, August 1, 8:00 am-12 pm.

You will find out your assigned room and roommate during check in.

All students will move-in on July 6th unless you have been pre-approved to move-in later (move-in prior to July 6th cannot be accommodated).

Check-in will include:

Receiving your CCA photo ID- this will be used as identification, your meal plan and for entry into your room/residential building

7:00-8:00pm First Floor Meeting with Residential Education Coordinator & RA's

8:30pm-9:15pm- Ice Cream Social + Icebreakers in 3rd Floor Lobby

Move-In Exception:

A Parent/Guardian Release Form is not needed on 7/5 between 9am-5:30pm. You are welcome to leave campus with your parents/guardians after move-in, but you must return to campus by 5:30pm for dinner. Students without a parent/guardian must still be in a group of at least 3 people and complete the Group Check Out Form, if leaving campus on 7/5.

Move-Out Schedule Saturday, August 1, 8:00 am-12 pm.

8am - 9am: Last name, A - I

9am - 10am: Last name, J-Q

10am - 11:30am: Last name, R-Z

Residents must complete their move-out by noon.

Failure to check out with an RA may result in an Improper Checkout Fee. Fees may also be assessed for students who fail to complete move-out by their designated time.

Early Check-Out:

If you need to move out early, please communicate with youthprograms@cca.edu before moving out. We can only accommodate a limited number of early move-outs. Prior communication for earlier move-outs MUST BE done to be granted an Express Checkout. Those leaving early without written approval may be charged an improper checkout fee.

Leaving Campus

Campus Radius Map

The locations outlined on the map are considered on campus and do not require students signing out via the front desk or Pre-College 2026 Group Checkout Form.

If students go beyond the campus radius map, they are required to be in a group of a minimum of three students and must complete Pre-College 2026 Group Checkout Form.

Parents/guardians who wish to allow their students to leave campus under the supervision of an adult unrelated to the Pre-College program must submit their request in writing via the Parent/Guardian & Curfew Release Form; and must be received at least 2 business days prior to the date of requested outing. Requests for release to an authorized adult will be reviewed and approved by the Residential Education staff during regular business hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM (except holidays). Requests received after 5:00 PM Monday - Friday or on weekends or holidays will not be considered received until the following business day. This form must only be completed by student's parent or legal guardian for every time a student is leaving campus and even when the Parents/Guardians themselves are leaving campus with their student. The Parent/Guardian Off Campus Release Form will be included in the Move-In email.

The Pre-College Residential Education Coordinator will review all requests and email a confirmation once the request has been approved. 

Commuter Students

Commuter students will commute to campus daily. Instructors will take attendance daily but there is no sign-in/out required.

If taking bart, there is a free shuttle by Civic Center Station that picks up on 8th Street @ Market Street or on 9th Street @ Market Street (in front of Dolby, 1 block to/from the Panoramic Residences).

Parents/Guardians can also sign-up for carpool- please note Pre-College staff does not do any coordination for this and it's up to parents/guardians to reach out to each other to set this up.

Meal Plan Information:

All commuter students are required to have a lunch meal plan. The meal plan is $360 and includes lunch for 5 days a week.

Policies: Attendance, Program & Residential Policies

Students are expected to attend class every day (Monday–Friday, 9:30 am–4:30 pm) and arrive on time for the entire four-week program. Three late arrivals or early departures (10 minutes or more) will count as one unexcused absence. Three unexcused absences will result in a failing grade.

The San Francisco campus is located at 145 Hooper Street. The campus is served by San Francisco MUNI and, by connection, other Bay Area public transit systems such as BART.

Traveling to San Francisco Campus

By BART and bus

Exit Montgomery Street station at Sansome and Sutter

Take Muni bus 10 to 15th Street and Rhode Island and walk east two blocks to campus

OR

Exit at Civic Center station (Eighth and Market)

Take Muni bus 19 south to 15th Street and Rhode Island

Walk two blocks east to campus

OR

Exit 16th Street station (16th and Mission)

Take Muni bus 22 east to 17th Street and Wisconsin

Walk one block north to campus

Take Muni bus 55 east to 16th Street and Missouri

Walk one block west to Eighth Street

By car from the East Bay

Cross the Bay Bridge (80 West)

Take the 9th Street exit, turn left on Eighth Street, and get into the lane second from the left

Turn left on Brannon, right on 7th Street, right on Irwin Street, and right on Eighth Street

By car from the Peninsula (South)

Take Highway 101 North

Exit at Vermont Street and turn right on 16th Street, then left on Wisconsin

By car from Marin (North)

Cross the Golden Gate Bridge

Take the Lombard Street exit, turn right on Van Ness Avenue, cross Market Street, and continue on South Van Ness

Turn left on 16th Street and left again on Wisconsin

College Credit

Students earn 3 units of college credit upon successful completion of the program. An unofficial transcript with the letter grade(s) and credits earned will be emailed to participants the first week of September. This email will also include the instructions on how to order an official transcript through Parchment.

In order for a transcript to be considered official, student will need to request through Parchment. Then the official transcript will be sent directly from CCA via Parchment to the selected school.
