Student Privacy Rights

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) protects student privacy rights by setting strict limits on the disclosure of their education records. This means that besides CCA staff, third parties -- including spouses and parents -- may not have access to a student's account information without a student's written permission.

It is the student’s responsibility to forward billing information to a parent or third party who is assisting that student with payment. In order to assist families or third parties who are making payments on behalf of a student, students must add their parents/relatives/guardian/third-party as an authorized user in Touchnet for them to view the bill, enroll in a payment plan and pay online. They can also add users in Workday if they'd like third party users to view their financial aid and academic information.

By adding an authorized user, the student gives permission for only the named person(s) to get access to certain student account information through the Student Accounts Office.

Each office at CCA maintains their own process for authorizing third party access. To authorize access to information maintained by other departments, please contact the appropriate CCA office.

Tuition, Housing Charges & Miscellaneous Fees

Tuition charges are billed per semester and are based on the number of units for which a student is registered, by course or program, or both. In addition to tuition and course fees, students may be charged mandatory fees associated with their enrollment.

Housing charges are also billed by semester. See also Tuition and Fees schedule for a complete listing of all fees.

Health Insurance & Online Insurance Waiver

For important information, see Health Insurance & Wellness. For information about the Insurance waiver, read the Online Insurance Waiver FAQ.

All full-time students registered in 12 or more units for all Undergraduate programs and 9 units for all Graduate programs are automatically charged for health insurance upon registration.

Fees can only be reversed by having an approved Online Health Insurance Waiver.
