Enrollment Checklist: 8 Steps

Congratulations on your admission to Pre-College at California College of the Arts for Summer 2024! The program will run July 8-August 2. This page is where Pre-College admitted students will find their next steps to respond to their offer of admission and complete the enrollment process.

Step 1: Accept your Admission

Please accept your admissions offer on your Application Homepage. There will be a link to your application under the section Your Applications. Please note your username is the email address you used to create the application.

Step 2: Submit your Tuition Deposit-due April 8, 2024

Once you’ve accepted your admissions offer, you will receive a new action item on your Application Homepage to pay your tuition deposit. Please pay the non-refundable $500 tuition deposit as soon as possible. Your tuition deposit secures your spot in your preferred studio and confirms your participation.

Step 3: Create a CCA Email Account

After we process your tuition deposit payment, you will receive another email with instructions to set-up your CCA email account which will be used for all official program communications. International students please see additional information below.

Step 4: Housing Application (if staying on campus)-due April 22, 2024

After you pay the tuition deposit and create your CCA email address, you will be able to apply for housing on campus. Housing applications are still open and processed on a first-come first-served basis.

Step 5: Tuition Balance Deadline- due May 6, 2024

If you received a scholarship, please refer to your scholarship tuition balance email to see balance owed.

Step 6: Meal Plan Payment (Commuter Students) & Housing/Meal Play Payment (Residential Students)-due May 22

After you deposit, you will receive instructions on how to make your commuter meal plan payment via email. Instructions on how to make your housing/meal plan payment are included in the confirmation email from the housing application.

Step 7: Complete Enrollment Agreement Form-due May 22

Enrollment Agreement form will be available in mid April.

Step 8: Upload your photo for your Pre-College Student ID

Please follow the Manage Your CCA ID Online instructions to upload your photo.

Housing applications will open March 4, 2024 are due April 22, 2024

Next Steps for Housing

  1. Wait 24 hours after creating your CCA account before logging into your housing account.
  2. Access your Housing at CCA account: enter your CCA username and password (same as your CCA email)
  3. Select “get started” (the blue button next to the Housing Application title)
  4. Select 2024 Pre-College Housing Application
  5. Please have your parent/guardian with you when you start your application
  6. Read the housing application carefully, and complete all fields as necessary
  7. Review and submit your application
  8. Your application will be reviewed and your housing assignment will be confirmed
  9. A payment link for your room, damage and cleaning deposit and meal plan will be sent to you directly after your application is submitted.

Your room is not guaranteed until your full housing and meal plan payment is made. Housing applications are reviewed and rooms are assigned on a first-come first-served basis.

CCA Email Set-Up

All Pre-College students are required to have CCA email addresses.

Step 1: Create your CCA email account.

Go to: https://accounts.cca.edu/activate/student/

You will need your student ID number.

We communicate with enrolled students frequently through your CCA email address, so once you set it up be sure to check your inbox regularly. If you are having trouble with this process, please contact helpdesk@cca.edu.

Step 2: Login to your CCA email account.

CCA email accounts are hosted by Google. Your CCA email can be accessed at google.cca.edu, your mobile device, or any email client.

Step 3: Set-up CCA cyber security.

CCA requires Duo multi-factor authentication for all students. You are required to enroll in Duo and will automatically be prompted to enroll the first time logging into your CCA email.. If you are having trouble with this process, please contact helpdesk@cca.edu.

International Students - Next Steps for F1 Visa Application for US Entry

Once you have confirmed enrollment by submitting deposit payment, please review next steps and resource links with information to obtain your Form I-20 and prepare for F1 Visa application to enter the US to participate in the CCA Pre-College program!

Next Steps:

  • Complete and submit the CCA ISS I-20 Request Form for Pre-College and return it with all supporting documents to International Student Services (ISS): iss@cca.edu
  • Once I-20 has been received from CCA, make an appointment with the US Embassy/Consulate to apply for F1 Visa
  • Make travel arrangements to arrive in the US and to CCA before Pre-College move-in date. F-1 students can enter the US within the 30 days before the program starts.
  • Attend required Pre-College F1 Student Check-In ISS Orientation to confirm arrival at CCA

Study in the States is a very helpful official US government resource with a step by step guide to becoming an F1 student.

EducationUSA (we recommend "comprehensive" offices only) may be a good resource for specific advice or questions about the F1 Visa application for citizens from your home country.

Program Schedule

First Day of Class

  • The first day of classes will be Monday July 8th. Students will enter the building using the 450 Irwin Street entrance of our Main campus building (1111 8th St San Francisco, 94107)
  • Commuter Students - please arrive at 9:00 am for check-in.
  • Residential Students - You do not need to check-in the first day of program and can head to the 450 Irwin Street entrance after breakfast
  • Check-in will include:
    • Receiving your CCA photo ID- this will be used as identification and for your commuter meal plan
    • The first day will include an orientation, tour of campus, introduction to faculty/staff and meeting with your studio cohort. Orientation will begin promptly at 9:30 am.

Class Schedule

  • Classes are held daily Monday - Friday from 9:30am-4:30pm (lunch break from 12:30-1:30)
  • Evening studio time is on Tuesday and Thursdays from 4:30-8pm are offered weekly starting the second week of the program. This time is for students to complete homework and are optional in week 2 and required in weeks 3 and 4.
  • Additional notes on class schedule
    • After First Day of Class, ALL students will head to class via 450 Irwin Street entrance, class begins at 9:30am.
    • Students are required to bring their CCA IDs daily.
    • Students will be with the same students and instructor working on their program focus for the program.
    • There will be two interdisciplinary workshop opportunities on Friday July 19 & Friday July 26 where students can sign up to explore a different program focus for the afternoon.

Open Studio Celebration on August 2

Family and friends will be invited to join their students on the last day of the program, August 2nd for an Open Studio Celebration from 3:45-5:30pm. There will be a brief presentation followed by the opportunity for students to show their parents/guardians & friends their work. Please note for students who are living in the residential halls, move-out is on August 3.

Residential Students: Housing, Meal Plan & Move-In/Out days

On campus residential students attending the Pre-College programs will live at CCA’s Founders Hall on the San Francisco campus. A housing application is required for all residential students and includes a housing agreement, and signing the student code of conduct policy. All Pre-College students will live on the second floor in a double studio with a shared bathroom.

Students main point of contact in the residential hall will be the Campus Life Pre-College Assistant who will live with them in Founders Hall. There will also be four Residential Assistants (RA’s) living on the floor and here to support as well. The Campus Life Pre-College Assistant & the RA’s will be planning weekly activities for students to participate in including activities at night & optional outings on Saturday.

Meal Plan Information:

Meal plans are required for our residential students living in Founders Hall and are packaged with your housing payment.

Move-in day is Sunday, July 7, 9:00 am-12 pm. Move-out day is Saturday, August 3, 9:00 am-12 pm.

You will find out your assigned room and roommate during check in.

All students will move-in on July 7th unless you have been pre-approved to move-in later (move-in prior to July 5th cannot be accommodated).

Check-in will include:

Receiving your CCA photo ID- this will be used as identification, your meal plan and for entry into your room/residential building

Schedule:

9am - 10am Last name, A - I

10am - 11am Last name, J-Q

11am - 12pm Last name, R-Z

12:00pm-1:30pm Lunch at Makers Cafe

6pm-7pm Dinner at Makers Cafe (Students Only)

Commuter Students

Commuter students will commute to campus daily. Instructors will take attendance daily but there is no sign-in/out required.

If taking bart, there is a free shuttle by Civic Center Station that picks up on 8th Street @ Market Street or on 9th Street @ Market Street (in front of Dolby, 1 block to/from the Panoramic Residences).

Parents/Guardians can also sign-up for carpool- please note Pre-College staff does not do any coordination for this and it's up to parents/guardians to reach out to each other to set this up.

Meal Plan Information:

All commuter students are required to have a lunch meal plan. The meal plan is $340 and includes lunch for 5 days a week.

Our Residential Policies include information regarding curfew and expectations around leaving campus. A finalized policy will be uploaded prior to program start and included in the Enrollment Agreement Form.
