The Commencement Event Series is an offering of in person and virtual events to celebrate in community and support the launch of your creative career. All event times are listed in Pacific Daylight Time unless noted otherwise. Recordings of past programs will be posted when available.

MA Visual & Critical Studies: Spring Symposium

The event is a rite of passage for the students and a proud moment for those who ushered them to this professional threshold. There are a total of five students presenting--Liz Hafey, Katherine Jemima Hamilton, Liz Ordway, Aliya Parashar, and Kristen Wawruck--grouped into two thematic panels. Each presentation is approximately 12 minutes long; there is an additional presentation by Dorothy R. Santos, the 2022 VCS Alumni Award recipient. Following the presentations in Timken Lecture Hall, there will be a reception in the Backlot, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm.

REVEAL: DMBA Venture Showcase is a day-long event featuring second-year students of the MBA in Design Strategy (DMBA) program as they present their final capstone projects.
REVEAL is the culmination of two years of incredibly hard work, as students take the stage to present business plans for their innovative products and services, spanning health and wellness, retail, investment, and even death care.

Twenty-six graduating illustrators present their diverse and vibrant talents across digital and analog mediums. Both Portfolio and Thesis works will be displayed, along with objects, apparel design, game and character design, comics, posters, and prints. Illustrators create images that tell deeply personal stories, and consider how these images function in the world. This show is the culmination of four years of concentrated study, and the best of the best of each students’ collection of work to obtain their BFA in Illustration.
